Where is Grumpy Monkey?
We're at 144 Above Bar Street, in Southampton's cultural quarter, SO14 7DU.
What time are you open?
Fridays 4pm till 1am and Saturdays 12pm till 1am. Sunday to Thursday the venue is available for private hire.
Do I need to book a table?
You can book a table online any time. Worth doing for weekends and bigger groups.
What happens on Grumpy Fridays?
2‑4‑1 cocktails all night, with commercial, urban, house and singalong from the DJs, 4pm till 1am.
What about Grumpy Saturdays?
Weekend anthems and live sport on the screens, 12pm till 1am.
Do you serve food?
Yes. We're a bar, lounge and kitchen, best known for our Jungle Burgers and Dirty Fries. The full food menu is above.
Do you do bottomless brunch?
Yes, and we're taking bookings.
Is there outdoor seating?
There are a few picnic benches out front, first thing to fill up when the sun's out.
What's the vibe like?
Early doors is relaxed, cocktails without the crush. Later it turns into a proper night out, with the DJ booth raised above the entrance looking out over the dancefloor, and a sound system to match.
Do you show live sport?
Yes, shown live across 11 screens. Give us a ring if you want to check we're showing a particular fixture.
Can I hire the venue?
Hire the main room, the mez (while we're open), the side room or the whole venue. Buffet menus and drinks packages are available on request.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, buy online and they're valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
